Prince in 2008

Prince Fielder finished off another stellar regular season in 2008.

Fielder finished with 34 HR, 102 RBI, 86 R and 83 BB. Prince once again finished as one of the Top 10 fantasy baseball firstbasemen. He also led his team to an NL Wild Card berth.

After a 54 AB homerless drought to open the season, Fielder finally knocked one out of the yard on April 17th.

2007

Milwaukee Brewers in ‘08

The Milwaukee Brewers will return a heavy offense in 2008. The projected lineup (as of 12/13/07) will be:

  • C: Jason Kendall
  • 1B: Prince Fielder
  • 2B: Richie Weeks
  • 3B: Ryan Braun
  • SS: JJ Hardy
  • LF: Gabe Gross
  • CF: Bill Hall
  • RF: Corey Hart

The Brewers have been busy this offseason primarily focusing on improving their bullpen.

Key bullpen acquisitions:

  • Eric Gagne
  • David Riske
  • Salomon Torres

Other siginings:

  • Jason Kendall, Catcher

Prince Fielder in 2007

Sophomore slump? No way. Prince Fielder followed up a solid rookie season in 2006 with a MVP-caliber stat line in 2007. Prince set a franchise record for homeruns (50), while leading the National League, and became the youngest player to knock 50+ homers in a season. Prince also ranked in the top 10 in the NL for RBI (3rd), R (7th), BB (9th), SLG (2nd), AB/HR (2nd), OPS (2nd), TB (4th), IBB (5th), HBP (5th).

Fielder also brought home several awards in 2007:

  • Brewers Team MVP Award
  • Silver Slugger
  • Players Choice NL Outstanding Player Award
  • NL Hank Aaron Award

Prince was also a valuable commodity in the fantasy baseball world. He was 3rd in fantasy baseball rankings for all first basemen with 555 fantasy points just behind David Ortiz and Albert Pujols.
